MetroLIFE Mentors
Mentors are crucial to the MetroLIFE experience – providing wisdom, friendship and accountability. We ask mentors to make a one-year commitment to working with high school seniors as they navigate senior year and prepare for life after graduation.
Hopes & Expectations:
1. To attend the mandatory MetroLIFE mentor orientation and training sessions (3 sessions, 60-75 mins each).
2. To engage in an approximate 12 month journey (commitment) with the mentee.
3. To initiate contact with the mentee - at least once a week - as a relationship cultivator.
4. To be relational by building a rapport with the mentee’s parent(s).
5. To attend/chaperone - on a noncommittal basis – 3-4 fellowship events and/or group counseling sessions throughout the duration of the program (if/when available).
6. To participate in a MetroLIFE community service activity at least once (if possible).
7. To provide support, encouragement, and accountability, regarding high school graduation and the post-secondary process.
8. To attend 2-3 MetroLIFE mentor meetings within the duration of the program.
9. To comply with the background check process.
